Hand over day for for the Pontiac. It gives us great sense of satisfaction turning out work as good as it is. Ken appreciated every bit of effort we put in. Making it worth it all the more. :)
It was a good day out in the Firebird with my favourite co-pilot, up to Hahndorf through to Strathalbyn, stop to search for scissors and hammers and lunch, On to Clayton Bay and Finnis. Back to Woodside the long way and through to Birdwood for the pic. Home just short of 200 km. Interesting and very different from the DB5 The new tyres, power steering and brake pads took a little time to bed-in. After a hundred km or so it settled and feels good. Plenty of power from the 350 fuel-injected V8. Acceleration as would be expected. 2000 rpm 100 km in overdrive, just idles along. No rattles or bumps over any of the secondary roads we drove. Heat and Air-cond all good. The ride is firm but rides well. I must say the unibody structure is very rigid. Other T Tops I have driven were lacking in this area—a delightful surprise. In two hundred km, it did not miss a beat. The fit and finish are, I think, second to none. It looks feels and drives better than it did in 1989 and should bring joy to the driver and observers for another thirty years and more. A successful day on all counts.
A beautiful drive today in the Firebird will take it for a good run tomorrow. Perhaps a couple of hundred Ks All going well can hand it over next week.
That will put a smile on Ken's face. I'm sure the drive tomorrow will on mine and Julie's my favourite co-driver.By accepting you will be accessing a service provided by a third-party external to https://dev.marquerestoration.com.au/
